Biographical Information

"Pamela has significant knowledge of the international healthcare sector, having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 30 years. She held senior UK and global management positions in AstraZeneca PLC and in F. Hoffman-La Roche Ltd., where she was Director of Global Strategic Marketing and CEO of Quintiles Transnational Corporation. Other previous roles include non-executive director of Novo Nordisk A/S, Informa plc and Smith and Nephew plc. "Key external appointments: Non-executive director of Victrex plc, Hikma Pharmaceuticals plc, Reckitt Benckiser Group plc and member of the supervisory board of Akzo Nobel N.V."

"Dr Kirby is currently Chairman of Scynexis Inc., a privately held chemistry-focused drug discovery and development company based in the US. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Smith & Nephew plc and Victrex plc. She was previously a member of the Board of Simmons and Simmons LLP, Non-Executive Chairman of Oxford Immunotec Limited, Non-Executive Director of Novo Nordisk A/S and was the CEO of US-based Quintiles Transnational Corporation. Prior to joining Quintiles, Dr Kirby held various senior positions in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr Kirby was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Informa in September 2004. She chairs the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Nomination Committee. She was also appointed as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director on 17 March 2008."
