Ojo Electoral
For the 2006 election in Venezuela Ojo Electoral's total budget was US$700,000 which came from the European Union, Norway, Holland, Canada, and Switzerland. Jose Virtuoso, its director, said "We could have gotten money from NDI (National Democratic Institute), the Carter Center, and the US Ambassador. We told them no, that is not possible for credibility reasons. NDI has helped with advice and interchange." [1]
"Carlos Genatios (Ojo Electoral) said they submitted to the National Electoral Council (CNE) all of the complaints they were advised of in connection with the operation of such fingerprint-capture machines. He stressed, however, that problems where solved during the day. Ojo Electoral conducted a poll among 565 voters, and 64 percent said the process was quick." [2]
