Nonsmoker wins suit on illness secondhand smoke caused heart attack

Avtar Ubhi, 54, suffered a heart attack in March 1989 during a busy shift at the Cat 'N' Fiddle, small bar and restaurant in Sausalito, California, where he had worked for five years. Medical experts testified at an administrative law hearing that secondhand smoke was a significant cause of Ubhi's illness, which eventually required a triple heart* ypass and a nine month recuperation.
