Nomkhita Mona "holds a Masters Degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and an MBA from Rhodes University. After starting her career with the Council for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration in the East Cape she rose to the position of Registrar of the CCMA in Mpumalanga, before accepting the position of CEO of East Cape Tourism Board.

"Currently, Mona is CEO of the Inkiso Land Company which was founded by the sugar industry to fast-track land redistribution to aspirant and emerging black farmers. Operating on a willing-buyer, willing-seller basis, the company’s main objectives are to speed up the process and ensure there is proper support for farmers before and after the sale of land." [1]
