Biographical Information

"Neil Goulden, Executive Chairman of the Gala Coral Group, joined Affinity Sutton as Chair in 2010. He has taken up his post following the retirement of former Chair Alan Kilburn OBE, on 29 July 2010. Neil joined Gala in 2000 as Group Managing Director, was made CEO in 2004, led the merger of Gala and Coral in November 2005 and became Executive Chairman in January 2009.

"Prior to joining Gala Neil held Board Positions at Ladbrokes, Chef and Brewer, The Compass Group and Allied Leisure plc. He is also a Member of The Low Pay Commission and a Non Executive Director of Marstons plc."[1]

"Neil now runs his own consultancy business (Neil Goulden Consulting Ltd) and is a Director of a number of organisations in the public, private and third sector. He is the Senior Independent Director at Marstons Plc, the brewing and pub operator. In the not for profit sector Neil is interested in social justice through access to health, housing and education. He is a member of the Low Pay Commission, Chairman of Affinity Sutton Housing Association (60,000 social housing homes), Chairman of the Finance & Audit Committee at Sue Ryder (healthcare provider), Chairman of the Responsible Gambling Trust (an industry funded charity), Chairman of Access Sport (community sport in deprived areas) and Chairman of the Audit Committee at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. He is also a Companion of the Institute of Management." [2]
