Biographical Information
"Ndanatsei Tawamba, a Zimbabwean national, serves as the Executive Director/CEO at Urgent Action Fund-Africa (UAF-Africa), bringing 13 years of experience in human rights programming, social marketing, resource mobilization and overall management of gender justice programmes in Europe as well as in developing countries.
"Prior to joining UAF-Africa, Ndana was in charge of the UN Women office in Harare, Zimbabwe, where she was responsible for the execution of the multi-million dollar funded EC, DFID and DANIDA Gender Support Programme. Ndana has lectured at the Women’s University in Africa, been invited as guest lecturer and speaker at several institutions to speak about HIV/AIDS and its impact on women’s rights in Sub-Saharan Africa; Psychology of Women as an intellectual discipline as well as on Women Peace and Security; a subject she is passionate about and pursuing at doctoral level. ...
"Ndana graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Women’s Studies from Lancaster University, England; Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Social Psychology from University of Zimbabwe and a diploma in Personnel Management. Her work with UAF-Africa, the UN, academia and consultancy assignments has meant extensive travels across the globe, thereby allowing her to combine her commitment to gender justice with an opportunity to further explore women and girl’s realities throughout the world.
