Nancy Spence is a member of the Colorado Senate, serving in the 27th District. Spence has served in the Colorado State Senate since 2006, and served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1999 to 2005.

Ties to American Legislative Exchange Council
Spence is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). She has served as Chair of the ALEC's Education Task Force Chair since 2007. She was awarded the ALEC Legislative Education Award in 2007. [1] Spence has received a total of $8,218.79 in ALEC “scholarships” according to data from 2006 to 2008.
