Environment
Movistar claims that it tries to minimize the impact of the company on the environment. It states that it selects places, keeping in mind to not intervene in protected areas, to minimize applied structures and to not go against air security, the sowing of trees in clearing when necessary, false façades that reduce the perception of antennas and preserve the image of the area. Movistar has a policy of identifying the generating source of the dangerous residues and actions since the purchase with the supplier to assure the adequate disposition and use as is the case with batteries and oils used. It also designs its installations with the consideration of noise reduction. Noise monitoring plans and actions to control the emission of sound are also used. Recycling paper, toner, and plastic is another method to help the environment. Movistar also has established goals for the rational use of resources such as energy, water and diverse materials, generating savings and contributing with the financial objectives of the company.
