Monique Beadle
Monique Beadle, West Coast Office Director Human Rights USA.
"Following three years of service as Human Rights USA's Refugee Project Director, Monique relocated to Los Angeles in June 2008 to launch HRUSA's West Coast Office and extend the group's reach to address emerging human rights concerns on the West Coast. As the former Refugee Project Director, she spearheaded litigation on behalf of refugee women fleeing gender-based violence and led efforts to secure asylum for women fleeing forced marriage, trafficking, and other forms of sexual slavery. Before joining Human Rights USA in 2005, as a Research Associate with the Nobel Peace Prize-nominated Public International Law & Policy Group, Monique advised political leaders in Southeast Asia on their ongoing peace negotiation and constitutional reform efforts. She also worked with International Justice Mission in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Institute for Global Engagement, a religious freedom and international affairs "think tank with legs" founded by former Ambassador at Large for Religious Freedom Robert Seiple. Monique received her JD from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as Chair of the Immigrants’ Rights Coalition Trafficking Committee and the Equal Justice Foundation Selection Committee."
