Michele Keegan
Michele Keegan "first became involved with the Free Burma movement in 1997 while doing her undergraduate studies at American University. Since that time she has remained involved in a range of activities including: participating in grassroots campaigns at American University and in Washington DC, taking a leadership role in organizing and implementing some projects and campaigns, participating in non-violent direct action in Burma in 1998, doing subsequent community speaking to civic groups, university and high school students, and political organizations, participating in 1998 and later leading an exposure trip in 2001 to the Thai-Burma border, working as a Research Officer at Altsean-Burma in Thailand from Aug 2002 to Dec 2003 where she produced strategic reports and briefing materials for use by human rights advocates, journalists and diplomats."
