"NEW YORK, NY, October 6, 2004 – News Corporation today announced the promotion of Michael Regan to Executive Vice President of Government Affairs. Mr. Regan had been Senior Vice President of Government Affairs since he joined News Corporation in March 2001.
"Mr. Regan, 45, will continue to head the company’s Washington, DC, office and report to News Corporation’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Peter Chernin.
"Prior to joining News Corporation, Mr. Regan was Senior Vice President of External Affairs at NextWave Telecom, Inc. Previously, he worked as Telecommunications Counsel to the Committee on Commerce of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he advised the Committee and the House on all telecommunications-related legislation, including the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
"Mr. Regan received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a John Motley Morehead Scholar." [1]
