Michael Mack
Michael Mack is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Swiss-based, global agribusiness firm Syngenta.[1] He is an American, and was appointed CEO on June 22, 2009, replacing former Syngenta CEO Jacques Aigrain, a Swiss citizen, who resigned in February of 2009.[2] In 2010, Mack's compensation was $5.45 million.[3]

Biographical information
Michael Mack was raised in Detroit, Michigan, and earned a degree in economics from Kalamazoo College in Michigan. He also studied at the University of Strasbourg and has an MBA from Harvard University. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Syngenta Seeds (2004–2007) and Head of Syngenta Crop Protection, NAFTA Region (2002–2004). Prior to working for Syngenta, he was president of the global paper division of Imerys, a French mining and pigments business. He was executive vice president, Americas and Pacific region, in addition to being an executive director of the board. From 1987 to 1996 he held various roles with Mead Corporation.[4]
