Biography
Melvin M. Belli was an attorney in San Francisco, CA for the Law Offices of Melvin M. Belli. He tried his first cigarette case in Louisiana, in March 1958, before Judge Christenberry; Lartigue v. Reynolds and Liggett Myers (jury found for defendants). He tried the Galbraith v. R.J. Reynolds trial in Santa Barbara, California on 12/23/85. The jury returned a 9-3 verdict for the defendant R.J. Reynolds. (Jenkins, pp. 132, 171.) He is deceased.
