Megan Davison is the Executive Director - Victoria of the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), the peak mining industry lobby group. She also has responsibility for "Safety & Health Regulatory Reform" policy for the MCA.

The MCA's Victorian member companies include a number of coal companies or companies with major coal interests including Ignite Energy Resources, International Power Hazelwood, Loy Yang Power Management Pty Ltd, Mantle Mining and TRUenergy Yallourn Pty Limited.

'Clean coal' optimism

In March 2012 Davison told the Latrobe Valley Express that progressing clean coal technology could happen "in the blink of an eye".
