Max Uhlenbeck

Max Uhlenbeck "is a New York City based organizer. He works at the Brecht Forum, a left movement center, as their development coordinator focusing on grassroots fundraising strategies. He is part of the Left Turn magazine editorial collective, which he has been working with since 2004. He has given talks at major activist conferences around the US including the Allied Media Conference, Left Forum, the 2007 US Social Forum, and NCOR (National Conference on Organized Resistance). His organizing background is in the direct action movements coming out of the WTO protests in Seattle '99, and anti-war student organizing since September 11th, 2001. His articles have appeared and been translated in magazines and journals around the world including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Holland, India and the United States. In the lead up to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, he appeared on several major media outlets as a spokesperson for United for Peace & Justice, including Peter Jennings Evening News, NBC dateline and BBC International."
