Matthew Freud
Matthew Freud is the founder and chairman of Freud Communications. He is the great-grandson of Sigmund Freud, and "son of journalist and raconteur" Clement Freud. He "is also the PR behind some of Britain's most heavily exposed names (Chris Evans, Geri Halliwell, Guy Ritchie, Ali G etc...) and some of the most brilliant/ludicrous PR stunts in recent media history (Geri Halliwell dates Chris Evans, Geri Halliwell votes Labour, Geri Halliwell acquires dog etc...)." [1]
"Matthew Freud is best known as Chairman of Freud Communications, the PR agency he founded in 1985. He is also involved in a wide range of charitable and cultural activities both in the UK and internationally; notably in addition to trusteeship of Comic Relief he is Vice Chairman of the NSPCC's Full Stop campaign. Freud Communications is the UK's largest independent public relations agency and was sold to advertising agency AMV in 1991, but became private again following a management buyout in 2001. The core business is consumer PR for brands such as Nike, Pepsi, Nestle, Disney and Unilever, but in recent years it has seen dynamic growth in its Corporate, Film, Entertainment and International divisions. His cultural vocations are equally wide ranging with a particular focus on his role as an Associate Director of the Old Vic. His investment and advisory roles cover a wide range of sectors, particularly in the fields of politics, technology, consumer brands and entertainment." [2]
He is married to Elisabeth Murdoch. His sister is Emma Freud.
