Mary Ann Arnado
Mary Ann Arnado "is the former Deputy Director of Initiatives for International Dialogue (IDD), a regional institution that promotes solidarity among the people of Southeast Asia. As a coordinator of grassroots peace advocacy groups in Mindanao, Mary Ann Arnado organized the Bantay ceasefire monitoring team, which successfully aided in the peace process between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Ms. Arnado served as the Secretary-General and a lawyer for the Mindanao People's Caucus, where she helped mobilize over 10,000 IDPs. Her participation in the International Women‟s Peace and Solidarity Mission to Basilan was an important step in articulating the need to openly address incidences of sexual violence in times of conflict. Mary Ann Arnado was born in 1970, in Mindanao, the Philippines. She attended Mindanao State University." [1]
