Martin Newhouse is President and Acting General Counsel of the New England Legal Foundation, which engages in "vigorous advocacy of free market principles."[1] Newhouse has been with NELF since 2004, at which time he held the role of general counsel.[2] He also teaches legal ethics at Suffolk University Law School.

On March 1, 2010, he published an article in a minor Massachusettes newspaper called the Valley Advocate, titled "The First Amendment Wars: Calming Down about the Citizens United Decision." The article minimized the import of the Supreme Court's decision in the Citizens United case.[3]
