"Dr Mark Hutchinson will commence with FFI in July, initially in the role of Director of Projects, before assuming the role of Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FFI, by the end of 2022, reporting directly to the Fortescue Board.

"Mark Hutchinson is a highly successful international business leader. He held a number of very senior positions in GE, which was run by Jack Welch and later Jeff Immelt, during his 24 years there. His roles included five years leading GE in China, with his most recent role in GE being President and CEO, GE Europe, a business with over 100,000 employees and operating. In both roles, Mark helped develop and execute a shared growth strategy for all GE businesses. During his time at GE, he also held several leadership positions in GE Capital. Prior to GE, Mark was Head of Asian Project Advisory at Barclay’s De Zoete Wedd (BZW).

"Dr Hutchinson has a keen interest in ESG. He was on the board of World Wide Generation Limited, a fintech focused on building a sustainability reporting platform on blockchain. Dr Hutchinson was also recently a non-executive director of Bluescope Steel Limited, Mission Australia, Allianz Australia Insurance Limited and Alpha Australia. Dr Hutchinson is the primary sponsor of the Ethics Chair at the University of Queensland where he holds a Doctor of Business." [1]
