Mark Cowan
Mark D. Cowan is a partner at the Washington D.C.-based lobbying firm Patton Boggs. Cowan is also a director of Duluth Metals, a mining company which has as its prinicipal project the Maturi Extension Property in northeastern Minnesota.
According to a biographical note Cowan joined Patton Boggs after working as "president of Columbus Public Affairs and as chief executive officer of Newmyer Associates, a public affairs and strategic intelligence firm. He was vice chairman of Cassidy & Associates and a founder and chief executive officer of The Jefferson Group. Earlier, Mr. Cowan served at Gray & Company and Hill & Knowlton Public Relations, counseling numerous domestic and international clients. In addition, Mr. Cowan has held presidential and political appointments in three administrations. Most recently, President George W. Bush appointed him as a Member of Labor Secretary's Committee of the President's Council on the 21st Century Work Force."
