Margrethe Lundsager, of Virginia, was nominated July 25, 2006, by President George W. Bush to be United States Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund for a two year term.
"Ms. Lundsager currently serves as Alternate United States Executive Director. Prior to this, she served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Trade and Investment Policy at the Department of the Treasury. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of the Office of Asian and Near East Nations. Ms. Lundsager received her bachelor's degree from American University and her master's degree from the University of Maryland." [1]
