Dr. Mangala Rai "is the Secretary of the Government of India’s Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), and Director General of the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR). He is Vice-Chairman of the Governing Board of ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics) and a Board Member of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). He has previously held positions as DDG (Crops) of ICAR, National Director of the National Agricultural Technology Project and Agriculture Commissioner for the Government of India. Dr. Rai has served as Board Member for CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center), and a Member of the Executive Council of the CGIAR." [1]
