- Mallory Factor is the John C. West Professor of International Politics and American Government at The Citadel. He is a political commentator, a Forbes columnist and the Senior Editor of Money and Politics for The Street.com. He is co-founder of the Monday Meeting, an influential group of conservative political leaders, journalists, donors, think tank heads, and grassroots leaders in New York City--the largest meeting of its type in America. Previously, he served as chairman of the Free Enterprise Fund, a free market “do” tank advocating economic growth, lower taxes and limited government, and brought the Constitutional challenge to the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board to the Supreme Court.
Mallory Factor is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and served as Vice-Chair of the Council on Foreign Relations Task Force on Terrorism Financing. He has testified in front of the U.S. House of Representatives and the United States Senate on terror financing, regulation of the financial services industry and other economic issues. Mallory was a senior fellow at the House Republican Study Committee from 2007 to 2011, and he chaired the Economic Roundtable for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and led an Economic Summit for the U.S. House Republican Conference and Policy Committee in Washington, D.C. in 2009. He has written extensively on economic and financial issues for publications including the Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, National Review and newspapers nationwide. He has also appeared on numerous networks and cable stations including Fox News, CNBC, and Bloomberg to discuss finance and politics.
His book Shadowbosses is being published by Hachette and will be released on August 21, 2012.[1]
Factor is also President and Founder of Mallory Factor Inc., "an independent merchant bank and financial relations consultancy that advises public and private companies in various fields including biotechnology, technology, financial services and manufacturing. Mr. Factor is the Chairman of the New York Public Asset Fund and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Investment Advisory Board and is a member of the Board of Governors of the New York State Banking Department.
