"M. Dane Waters is the CEO of Tipping Point Strategies, a communications and advocacy firm based in Washington, DC. He is founder of the Initiative & Referendum Institute at the University of Southern California and helped co-found the Initiative & Referendum Institute Europe. He also serves on the board of the Citizens in Charge Foundation.

"Dane worked on six continents with elected officials, activists, NGO´s and government entities including the UN, the United States Department of State and the International Republican Institute on governance issues. He has been a political appointee in President George H. W. Bush´s administration and served as the Political Director of the Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Legislative Fund. He, furthermore, was the National Field Director for US Term Limits and worked on five presidential campaigns as well as over 60 ballot campaigns, among others. He is the founder of The Elephant Project and generally very engaged in animal welfare issues."[1]
