Lori Roman is the Owner of Libertas Global Partners and the former Executive Director of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).[1]

Roman preceded Alan B. Smith, who preceded Ronald Scheberle as ALEC’s Executive Director, and served in that capacity from 2006 through 2008.[2]

ALEC is a corporate bill mill. It is not just a lobby or a front group; it is much more powerful than that. Background
Roman is also currently President of The Salt Institute and the Founder of the front group Regular Folks United.[4][5]
Before coming to ALEC, Roman worked for the Bush Administration, serving as the White House Faith-Based and Community Inititatives Director. Prior to that, she worked for the Department of Education as the Director of School Choice.[6]

On May 3, 2010, she made an appearance on the Colbert Report.[8]
