Lord Faulkner

Lord Faulkner of Worcester has been a Labour member of the House of Lords since 1999. During these six years he has played a prominent part in a range of tobacco control debates and campaigns, including those which secured the passage of the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002, and the moves to make the House of Lords an almost entirely smoke-free environment (which finally succeeded on 21 December 2004). He is now the sponsor of the Liverpool City Council (Prohibition of Smoking in Places of Work) Bill. He is a Trustee (previously a Patron) of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, and was an officer of the parliamentary all-party smoking and health group.
In November 2004 he was appointed Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Betting and Gaming Group Inquiry
Other areas in which he is involved are transport, and sport (especially football).

- The previous owner and joint managing director of lobbying firm Westminster Communications Group. In 1997 he sold it to the Incepta Group, a public relations and marketing company. He continued as deputy chair of the renamed Citigate Westminster until 1999. The firm is now known as Citigate Public Affairs. [4]
- He was a paid employee of Incepta, in the role of strategy advisor, until early 2005 [5] [6]. By May 2005, his employment by Incepta had ceased [7].
