"LONGEVITY magazine has been published in South Africa since 1993 and celebrated its 20th anniversary this week. However, what many will be surprised to know is that the magazine, while founded by a South African, has its roots in America and was, by all accounts, a publishing idea well ahead of its time.

"Longevity was the brainchild of Kathy Keeton, a publishing executive who conceptualised and launched the magazine into the US market over two decades ago. She was born and raised on a farm in South Africa and met her future husband Bob Guccione at the tender age of 24 in London. They moved to the United States, where she helped him to build a multi-million dollar business empire...

"Today, 20 years later we aim to ensure that Longevity remains contemporary to our readers and to changing times, so you’ll notice changes to our design in this month’s edition, as well as a special pull-out section on New Beauty. We’re also excited to announce the launch of our television programme on CNBC Africa, called 15 Minutes with Longevity, sponsored by leading healthcare group Aspen. Longevity also goes mobile from June with the launch of our mobile app and we’ll be announcing other exciting new projects in future editions." [1]
