Liggett & Myers letter writing campaign against proposed airline smoking rules

In 1983, the Tobacco Institute and the Tobacco Action Network sought help to generate letters to the Civil Aeronautics Board to protest proposed rules to restrict smoking on small aircraft, to ban pipe and cigar smoking on all aircraft, to ban smoking on aircraft when the ventilation was not adequate, and to allow special protections for passengers who are particularly sensitive to smoke.

The request appeared in a 1983 Liggett & Myers publication called "Update."
