Laurie S. Parker is the Vice President, Account Management for Elizabeth Christian & Associates Public Relations. In 2008 she has helped with a "statewide communications campaign for Exelon Nuclear"[1] and Tenaska with the launch of a power station proposal dubbed the Trailblazer Energy Center.[2]

Background

A biographical note states that she joined the firm in 2004 and "has worked with high-profile local and national clients such as The University of Texas College of Education, Time Warner Cable and DMX MUSIC. Utilizing her extensive background in public affairs, Parker directed media relations and external communications for "Keep Texas Running," a state-based legislative campaign to legalize the use of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) at Texas racetracks. She is currently leading the statewide communications campaign for Exelon Nuclear."[1]

"After relocating to Austin from Washington, D.C., in 1999, Parker acted as the principal in her own consultancy practice, providing communication strategies for agencies, corporate and nonprofit clients. Clients included the Seton Healthcare Network, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, By George, Caritas of Austin and the Long Center for the Performing Arts. She also previously served as interim media and community relations director for the Seton Healthcare Network and as the Austin communications director for Cover the Uninsured Week, an unprecedented national grassroots campaign led by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation," it states.[1]

Earlier in her career, Parker served as vice president of Earle Palmer Brown/Kaufman Public Relations where she led the agency's national public education and B2B campaigns. Prior to this, she was director of media relations for The Capitol Group, where she managed national media strategies and supervised an extensive national public awareness campaign for a leading international pharmaceutical company. Parker launched her public relations career at Hill & Knowlton, Inc., organizing state and national grassroots coalitions on behalf of clients ranging from trade associations, nonprofit groups and health care companies," her biographical note states.[1]
