Large Carnivore Management Association of Namibia

In April 2009 "After a year’s hiatus, the major organizations working on large carnivore conservation came together at the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) to touch base and reestablish the Large Carnivore Management Association of Namibia (LCMAN). On the 8th of April, 2009, 21 people met at CCF including representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET), the Namibian Agricultural Union (NAU), Ongava Game Reserve, Harnas, Africat, the Cheetah Research Project, N/a’an ku sê Research Program, the Namibian Wild Dog Project, and CCF.

"Elections occurred to carry LCMAN forward. Ms. Josephine Hengali, Large Carnivore Coordinator from the MET, was appointed as Chairperson, Dr. Mark Jago, past Chair, as Vice Chair and interim advisor. Mrs. Annatjie Du Preez, representative from the NAU, was voted as Treasurer, and it was decided that CCF would continue to serve as the Secretariat." [1]
