Kirk L. Clinkenbeard
Kirk L. Clinkenbeard is a staff member of Potomac Advocates: Clinkenbeard is "well regarded in the Washington political community for his innovative ideas on the integration of entrepreneurs into the power elite. He founded The Westerly Group to consult with businesses on working with government.
"Mr. Clinkenbeard serves as National Finance Chairman for Campaign for America's Future, Senator Orrin Hatch's leadership PAC. Prior to that, he was Finance Chairman for Hatch for Senate, after heading up Senator Hatch's Presidential campaign fundraising. He is also Finance Director for the Foundation for the Promotion of Democracy, which promotes Reza Pahlavi's goals of freedom and furthers the principles of democracy, secularism, human rights and civil society.
"In 1996, Mr. Clinkenbeard was named National Treasurer of the Jack Kemp for Vice President Committee. He also served as a senior advisor to Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) in his 1996 reelection campaigns. Senator Stevens is Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and its Subcommittee on Defense; he also serves on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation; Governmental Affairs; and Rules and Administration Committees.
"Prior to founding The Westerly Group, Mr. Clinkenbeard served as National Finance Director for Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole's presidential campaign, where he authored the $25 million national finance plan and managed its implementation. From 1983 to 1986, Mr. Clinkenbeard served as Senator Dole's senior fundraising consultant and Executive Director of his political action committee, Campaign America, as well as a member of his successful 1986 U.S. Senate reelection campaign.
"Mr. Clinkenbeard represents Microcosm, Inc., a defense contractor in Torrance, California, and works with The Potomac Advocates on behalf of firms such as Kodak, General Dynamics, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. Other companies he has represented include MacAndrews & Forbes, the holding company for Revlon; the Advanta Corporation; Jones Motor Carriers; and Hardage Enterprises.
"He is currently on the Board of Regents for the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, a not-for-profit organization formed in 1994 to provide nonpartisan analysis of technology and technology policy to leaders in government, business, and academia. Mr. Clinkenbeard is a past president of the Kansas Society of Washington, D.C.
"Before coming to Washington, Mr. Clinkenbeard was a staff accountant with Main Hurdman, where he acquired expertise in federal election law and regulation.
