Biographical Information

Kiman Lucas became Clear Path International’s Executive Director "in March of 2010. Before her current role, Kiman served both as a member and later Chairman of CPI’s Board of Directors.

"As a seasoned, international business development professional, Kiman considers the empowerment and mentoring of locally-based social enterprises to be among the most effective means of securing lasting improvement in the lives of people injured, disabled, or displaced by war.

"Kiman brings more than 25 years of executive management experience in international business and legal affairs to CPI. Her work includes positions with a wide variety of organizations, including early-stage technology companies, non-profit corporations and public companies. She has extensive experience managing large-scale government and foundation grants and contracts and has developed and implemented numerous best practice programming and compliance systems. Kiman previously served as General Counsel for Classmates Online, M2E Power, Cordance (formerly Intermind), Phorm (formerly 121 Media), and publicly traded Profit Financial.

"For several years Kiman served as General Counsel to PATH, an international nongovernmental organization (NGO) that seeks solutions to some of the world’s most pressing health problems. While at PATH, Kiman was responsible for developing intellectual property policies that benefited the public sector. She initiated a wide variety of contract management and intellectual property management systems, served on the Human Subjects Committee and chaired the Intellectual Property Committee. Kiman also helped manage PATH’s International Loan Fund providing loans to numerous developing-country NGOs.

"Kiman’s international posts include serving as a Legal Officer with the Office of Legal Counsel within the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland where she helped draft policy on public sector/private sector collaborations. She also helped found The Concept Foundation in Bangkok, Thailand, worked in Corporate Affairs for Novo Nordisk in Copenhagen, Denmark and briefly lived and worked in London, England on assignment with the Greater London Council.

"Kiman obtained her BA in International Relations from Western Washington University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Northwestern School of Law. She lives on Bainbridge Island in Washington State with her three teenage children Pepper, Julia and Killian." [1]
