Karin Deutsch Karlekar is a Senior Researcher at Freedom House and is also the managing editor of 'Freedom of the Press,' an annual global survey of media independence which they publish.
"Ms. Karlekar holds a PhD in Indian history from Cambridge University and previously worked as a consultant for Human Rights Watch and an editor at the Economist Intelligence Unit. She serves as the South Asia analyst for Freedom in the World." [1]
Ms. Karlekar is also a member of the council for the International Freedom of Expression eXchange.
