Karen Kelly Klopp "is a freelance writer and filmmaker. Some of her projects include “With Peter Beard in Africa” for ABC Television; “Making Gorillas in the Mist” for Universal Pictures; “Sea Turtles; Ancient Nomads” for Audubon Television and PBS. In 1991, her film “Amazon Diary” was nominated for an Academy Award in the feature short category. In 1989, she and a partner founded The Women’s Group, a support group for women and children living in New York City shelters. From that experience came the book, “How to Save Children,” a practical guide for individuals wanting to get involved to help children “at risk.”" [1]
