Judith Winston
Judith A. Winston "is a principal and co-founder of the legal and education consulting firm Winston Withers & Associates, LLC. Winston has been Research Professor at the Washington College of Law at American University and served as General Counsel and Under Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education during the Clinton Administration. She also was Executive Director of President Clinton’s Race Initiative.
"Previously, Winston was the Deputy Director of the Women's Legal Defense Fund in Washington, Deputy Director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and Assistant General Counsel for Educational Equity at the U.S. Department of Education. She is on the boards of directors of National Public Radio, Partners for Democratic Change, and the National Law Center on Poverty and Homelessness. In 2003, Winston was appointed to the Accountability Council for the Philadelphia school district.
