Biography
Judith Wilkenfeld was assistant director in the Federal Trade Commission Division of Advertising Practices (1994) 5/2/94). "We know that consumers do not smoke in exactly the same manner as the machine" which measures cigarette tar and nicotine levels (AP 5/2/94). Wilkenfeld represented the FTC in its complaint against R.J. Reynolds re: R.J. Reynolds's 3/19/85 "Of cigarettes and science" adre: the MR FI? trial; the ALJ ruled the FTC had no jurisdiction over the "noncommercial" ad (L. White, Merchants 1988).
