John Townsend
John Townsend "is Director of the Population Council’s Reproductive Health program which seeks to develop and introduce appropriate technologies, provide assistance to policymakers in formulating evidence-based policies, and create innovations in service delivery. Dr. Townsend began working with the Council in 1984 and has directed regional and global operations research programs for Latin America and the Caribbean (Mexico City 1985-1993) Asia and the Middle East (New Delhi 1993-1998) and Frontiers in Reproductive Health (Washington DC, 1998-2006). He serves on the Council’s Institutional Review Board, participates in and presents at an array of technical committee meetings and advisory groups, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Contraceptive Access (ICS) Foundation, Helsinki, Finland."
