John Todd Stewart "served as Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova between 1995 and 1998. A Foreign Service Officer since 1962, Stewart has been posted to Germany, Venezuela, Switzerland, and the former Soviet Union. In Washington, he served as Director of GATT Affairs in the Office of the President's Special Representative for Trade Negotiations, Director of the Office of Maritime and Land Transport in the Department of State and Vice President for the Department of State at the American Foreign Service Association. His also served overseas as deputy chief of the U.S. diplomatic missions in Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Canada." [1]
