John I. Taylor
John I. Taylor "is Vice President, Public Affairs, for LG Electronics USA Inc. and its subsidiary, Zenith Electronics Corporation, a long-time leader in digital high-definition television (HDTV). Taylor has been involved in digital television for more than 17 years, since Zenith launched its HDTV research efforts in 1987. A charter member of the Academy of Digital Television Pioneers and 2004 recipient of the DTV Academy’s Industry HDTV Leadership Award, Taylor, serves on the Board of Directors of the Video Division of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and as Chairman of CEA’s HDTV Promotion Committee. He is a Director of the ATSC Forum and the Home Recording Rights Coalition. Previously, he also served as Chairman of the CEA Communications Committee, Chairman of the Public Relations Group of the “Digital HDTV Grand Alliance” and Promotion Chair of the Advanced Television Systems Committee. Taylor joined Zenith in 1981, became the company’s senior public affairs and communications executive in 1987 and was named a corporate officer in 1993. He graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill Graduate School of Journalism, Evanston, Ill., with a M.S. degree and from DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind., with a B.A." [1]
