John Hamilton Holbrook, M.D. is a specialist in internal medicine at the University of Utah Medical School. He has testified for the plaintiff in cases against the tobacco industry.
Biography
Dr. Holbrook was located at Chief Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Holbrook is board certified in Internal Medicine. He has served as a consultant and editor to the U.S. Surgeon General's Reports on smoking since 1972.
Dr. Holbrook has served in numerous editorial, consultant, and review capacities relevant to public health, and has received numerous commendations for his work. Dr. Holbrook was a panel member of the Smoking Cessation Guideline Panel of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Agency on Health Care Policy and Research. He also served as a consultant to the Federal Trade Commission, and to numerous voluntary health agencies. He has had a distinguished academic career and has written extensively on smoking and health issues, and has a busy clinical and teaching practice where he witnesses the health toll of smoking on a regular basis.(State of Florida's Proposed Plaintiff's Disclosure of Expert Witnesses, 2/5/97)
