McLeod was appointed October 18, 2001, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rally Energy Corp. He resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer on July 27, 2004, but remained as "Vice President, Operations and also as a Director of the corporation." On March 10, 2005, McLeod resigned as Vice President, Operations, but remained on the Board of Directors.

Mr. McLeod spent 15 years at Amoco Canada, including four years as chief engineer. On the domestic front he spent four years with Pengrowth Energy Trust from 1992 to 1995, during which time he directed acquisition evaluations that resulted in the purchase of in excess of $200 million of Western Canadian oil and gas properties. From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Mcleod also acted as project director for development of the Arakis Energy Corporation's Sudan oil project. In 1995 Mr. McLeod became President and CEO of Arakis. He directed the raising of US$148 million of new capital and established a project development consortium for drilling and pipeline construction that included China National Petroleum Corp., Petronas of Malaysia and the Sudanese Government. The Sudan project interests held by Arakis were sold to Talisman Energy Inc. in 1998. The project, which Mr. McLeod directed in its formative years, now produces in excess of 200,000 bbls/d of oil that is delivered to markets through a 1,500 km pipeline. From December 2000 to early October 2001, Mr. McLeod acted as President and CEO of Canoro Resources Ltd., a public company with projects in India." [3]
