John Burton

John Burton is Professor of Business Administration and General Coordinator of the Strategic Management Research Group in the Department of Commerce, Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, UK.

He has previously held professorial posts at the Leeds Business School and the European Business School, and lecturing appointments with the Universities of Southampton and Birmingham, Kingston Polytechnic, and Boston University. From 1984-1987 he was a Research Director at the Institute of Economic Affairs, London; and in 1987 also a Special Adviser to the House of Commons Treasury and Civil Service Select Committee. He is a co-founder of the magazine Business Studies (launched in 1988), and has contributed numerous articles in refereed journals.
