Dr. John E. Berthoud was born in West Hartford, CT on May 23, 1962.
He said about himself in an article in School Reform News: "After I finished my studies at Yale, I worked at the American Legislative Exchange Council for a couple of years and in 1994 was asked to come over as vice president for research of NTU's 501(c)3 foundation, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation. I worked there for a couple of years, went to the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution, and then came back in 1997 as president of NTU and NTUF." [1]
