Biographical Information
John Barton joined the Board of Directors of the Catlin Group "in December 2011 and became Chairman in May 2012. He served as Chief Executive of insurance brokerage JIB Group for 13 years and later served as Chairman of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc, the successor company to JIB. He served as Chairman of Brit Holdings PLC from 2008 until early 2011 and had previously been a Non-Executive Director. He also was Chairman of Wellington Underwriting plc, which was acquired by Catlin in December 2006. He is also currently Chairman of Next plc and Cable & Wireless Worldwide plc and Senior Independent Director of Topaz Energy & Marine. He has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of WH Smith PLC and Hammerson plc."[1]
