Joel Benjamin Cohen, Ph.D. is a Marketing Professor at the University of Florida, and an Anti-Tobacco Expert. He is a Professor of Marketing and Director of the Center for Consumer Research at University of Florida.

Biography

Joel B. Cohen holds a B.S. in Business Administration, an MBA in Marketing, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration/Marketing. Joel Cohen is a Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing and Adjunct Professor of Anthropology, Director, Center for Consumer Research, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611. Cohen was the Director of Center for Consumer Research at the University of Florida in 1988.(Newsday 6/20/88). He is a potential advertising expert. He believes cigarette advertising works subtly on children. He believes smoking is associated in ads with healthy active people, which detracts from the health warnings. He believes that young people in particular tend to discount the long-term consequences of smoking, then, before they know it, they are addicted to cigarettes.(Newsday 6/20/88)
