Joe D. Davis is Executive Vice President-Radio of Salem Communications Corporation.
In August 2000, Davis received a corporate promotion "to Senior Vice President of Operations from Vice President of Operations and General Manager of New York stations WMCA-AM and WWDJ-AM."
- "According to Edward G. Atsinger III, Chief Executive Officer, Davis' promotion, which takes him away from day-to-day station management, is designed to heighten his role with Salem Communications. He will now have oversight of additional radio station clusters, primarily in the East; assume added corporate responsibilities; and increase his interaction with the financial and investment communities.
- "Davis' career in radio began in high school and college. He was program director for Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) in Athens, Greece. Davis has owned an advertising agency in Phoenix, Arizona and directed a client organization that produces radio programming for more than 600 radio stations. He joined Salem Communications in 1989 as GM of WMCA-AM when Salem Communications owned 14 stations."[1]
