Javier Ruperez

"Javier Rupérez was appointed consul general of Spain in Chicago in July 2007, following three years as executive director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate at the Assistant Secretary-General level for the UN. Rupérez had previously served as ambassador of Spain to Washington (2000–04)". [1]

"Prior to his appointment as Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate for the United Nations, Mr. Rupérez was Spain’s ambassador to the United States from 2002.

He was the Spanish ambassador to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe from 1980 to 1982 and was Spain’s ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization from 1982 to 1983.
