"Jan graduated from Erasmus University of Rotterdam (EUR), Rotterdam, the Netherlands with a master’s degree in Finance and Accounting. After working as a Financial Planner at the Corporate Department NAM, Assen in the Netherlands for three years, He joined Shell in April 1996. His first three years were spent in the Shell Company of Gibraltar where he was involved in the Business Planning and Management of Information, Financial Accounting, Financing and Treasury, Taxation, Audit and IT. In July 1998, he became a member of the acquisition team in Shell Gas Direct where he worked on two small and one large acquisition in the downstream gas business in the U.K. Between October 1998 and February 2017, Jan has occupied different positions including Manager M&A and Financing, Shell International, London; Senior Manager M&A and Financing Shell International Gas, London; Global Treasurer, Shell International Petroleum Company, London; Head Upstream Commercial Finance-Africa, Shell International Exploration & Production, The Hague, Netherlands; Finance Director, the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria LTD (SPDC), Port Har Court, Nigeria.

Jan has more than twenty-five years of international finance experience in accounting and controls, planning and performance appraisal, business partnering, treasury, M&A and commercial finance and stakeholder management across the different business segments in Shell."
