Biographical Information
"Hailing from Australia, he has a long history of working in the Voluntary Sector and in particular specialising in volunteering. His career in the Voluntary Sector in the UK began when he co-founded an HIV/AIDS charity in the early 1990’s in Cardiff, going on to become its first CEO. Moving to London, he was appointed CEO of the Volunteer Centre Kensington & Chelsea in 1999, staying there for 10 years, but spending a year on secondment with Volunteering England as Director of Volunteer Development & Grantmaking in 2006. He has championed volunteering and the Voluntary Sector through his involvement with many committees and advisory groups including: Volunteer Hub Scrutiny Committee, Government Office for London, Regional Change Up Consortium and England Volunteer Development Council. He was a founding member and Chair for six years of Greater London Volunteering (the London regional network of volunteer development agencies); was Vice Chair of Kensington & Chelsea CVS for 10 years and is currently Chair of London Friend (LGBT health and well-being organisation). Jamie is currently Head of Volunteer Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital."[1]
