James Hopkins Smith "was a former vice president of Pan American Airways, Inc. and served as a director of the Aspen Ski Corporation and of Executive Jet Aviation. He was also vice chairman of the Aspen Institute. His earlier government service included a period as director of the International Cooperation Administration under President Eisenhower, as well as positions as assistant to the Secretary of the Navy and Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Air." He died in 1982.[1]
